Here is a summary of the things we studied in the First Term:

Topic: Family matters.
Description of personality.
Things you like doing.
Things you plan to do.

Family members: mother, father, parents, sister, brother, son, daughter, children, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, grandparents, grandchildren, cousins, niece, nephew. Step father, step brother or sister…
Adjectives: tall, short, thin, fat, blond, dark, young, old. Big, small. Strict, kind, unkind, lazy, hardworking, friendly, unfriendly, intelligent, generous, mean, tidy, messy, cheerful, shy, brave.
Verbs:Play, read, go, go out, go skateboarding,  cook.

Grammar and types of sentences:
I've got a brother. I've got two uncles and three aunts. My father's got one sister and two nieces.
What does---- look like?: She is short and thin and she has long dark hair.
Present Cont: Joe's father is reading the newspaper.
Going to ± infinitive: What's  Joe's mother going to do? She is going to cook.
What´s he or she like? (And, but) She is intelligent and generous. He is shy but brave.What do you like? I like music.

Topic: Hobbies
Saying what's your hobby
 How often and when you do it.
Things you need for your hobby.
Who you share it with.
Nouns: Guitar, violin, magazines, cards, stamps, board games, chess, other music instruments.
Verbs: Buy, do, go (to), practice, stick, collect, Past tense irregular verbs: woke up, got up, had, went, caught, did, ate, drank, run, saw, wrote, read, said.
Adverbs: once, twice, three times a week, a day, a month. Usually, often, sometimes, every day, never, always. Yesterday, last week.
Grammar and types of sentences:
Present Simple. Regular actions. Do you …? Does he/she…? I don't …  He/She doesn't...
Past Simple: regular and irregular. Did you...? Yes, I did, No, I didn't.
Questions with prepositions at the end: Who do you play chess with? Who are you talking to?
Asking questions in the present and in the past: Do you play chess at the weekend? Did you play chess yesterday?

Topic: School is out
Nouns: Beach, the mountains, the countryside, seaside, sightseeing, village, city
sand sandcastle, sunbathing, hiking, hotel, camp site, apartment, towel.
Verbs: swim, hike, fly, arrive, ski, skateboard, surf, sunbathe, visit, stay,

Grammar and types of sentences:
Where are they? They are in Rome.
Where do you go on holidays?
Where is…?
Where are you staying? Where are you going?
Things you can do somewhere: you can go hiking, you van go sightseeing, you can visit museums, you can go to the beach.
What can you do at the seaside?
Where did go on holidays last summer? I went to...

Expressions: have a good time, enjoy yourself.
Questions students must be able to answer: Tell me about your next/last holiday.
Where is your favorite place to place to go on holiday?
